The Adam Project (2022)

Enjoyable.  Typical Ryan Reynolds movie; a lot of quips.  Don't think too much about the sci-fi part.  It was actually more family drama.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

SPOILER ALERT!

It was so great to see the previous villains and Spidermen back in the movie. It was nostalgic. Also, Marvel acknowledged those movies existed parallelly with the current story, not just plain reboots after reboots.

It was fun and action-packed. Some sad parts.  My only complaint would be they digitized away too much wrinkles; so did Tony Leung's wrinkles in Shang-Chi.  The actors looked too young for their ages.

I thought Marvel had lost it with Eternals, but Spider-Man No Way Home showed that Marvel still hasn't peaked yet. There are still so much Marvel could do.

When Spider-Man said Dr. Strange's mirror world was just Archimedean spiral, Math Teacher almost choked. If Spider-Man had said magic was just math, I think Math Teacher would have cried.

How It Should Have Ended was correct; this movie should win every Oscar.  Spider-Man:  No Way Home was the only reason anybody left the house to go to a movie theater in the crappy year of 2021.

Not in a million years in my wildest dreams that I could write a story about a detective with a butt for the head.  What kind of mind and upbringing and culture when the author read Sherlock Holmes and thought, "Hmm, I bet I could write detective stories, for children, with butt for head!"

And it's so popular that it's got a movie coming out. Butt Detective: Shiriarty.

Yes, you read that right. Moriarty => Shiriarty => Shitriarty

Butt Detective has become so popular that famous Japanese actors want to be in it.  So it's Japan's Marvel.

Some kind of pastry from Boulangerie Nomuraブーランジェリーノムラ. The best bakery/pastry shop in Hamura City.

This shop is so good!  There were some not-so-great ones, but I haven't had a bad one.  Everything was delicious!

Therefore, it's appropriate to have a piece of pastry from Boulangerie Nomura, in the name of my mother.

The Accountant (2016)

Surprisingly good movie.  I wouldn't have watched it without my sister-in-law's recommendation.  It kept me entertained.  I kept thinking "What's going to happen next?  What's he gonna do?  Ooh, the bad guy's going to die!"

However, it was over-exaggerated.  The Accountant was basically John Wick being a badass accountant.  No accountant could be that good.

There were a lot of good actors that I saw them quite often but never really knew the names.  One notably was the baddie reporter guy from Spiderman.  I only knew him because he was currently the spokesperson for Farmers Insurance, my insurance.  Whenever I paid my insurance bill, he would be on the front page.

One character I really liked was the father.  Sure, he was tough and harsh on The Accountant, but he did all he could to raise two boys after his wife walked out on the family because she couldn't take the autistic Accountant anymore.  The scene when the mother was walking out, the father was trying to stop her, but the Accountant was screaming and freaking out and throwing things.  The father had to choose between his son and his wife.  So the father rushed back to the Accountant and held him and sang to him and tried to calm him.  Oh, it broke my heart.  😭

KARIN

Karin is Japan's Jamba Juice in the United States.  Jamba Juice quality has gone downhills; so now Karin is Math Teacher's one true love (I don't count).

We always order Large size because large is not enough for us fat Americans.  I only noticed today Large is Large in Japan, but Medium is Small.  So for people that can't read Japanese, they think they're getting medium, when in fact they're getting small.  On the other hand, there's no medium size in Japan?  🤨🧐
